Machete en Sin City 2 nieuws

ComingSoon.net had een interview met Danny Trejo op de set van Predators en hij had wat dingen te melden over Machete - die van de Grindhouse trailer. Volgens Trejo zal de film net als de trailer grindhouse stijl zijn. Dat is goed nieuws.

Over de cast had Trejo het volgende te melden:

You know, when I first saw Robert De Niro on the set, he came up and his first words to me were, "Don't leave me like this, Holmes." That was my line in "Heat." And I kind of laughed and he said, "Man, Danny, I'm really proud of you. You're the lead! This is it. This is you!" And I looked him right in the eye and I said, "Can I get you some coffee, Mr. De Niro?" (laughs) I couldn't believe that Robert (Rodriguez) got De Niro. And then Jessica Alba and Lindsey Lohan and Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Steven Seagal and Cheech Marin. It just goes on and on. It was really hard not just giggling. But it was amazing and that cast was amazing.

Toffe cast. Hopelijk wordt het net zo tof als Planet Terror. Van Planet Terror is het via Robert Rodriguez maar een kleine stap naar Sin City 2. Het is nog wel de bedoeling dat de film gemaakt wordt, maar het is nog heel onzeker allemaal.

I can't say no, because I don't know it's no. I know Frank wants to do it. I know I want to do it. It's always sort of a 'time permitting' kind of thing. But it's not like I can tell you definitely we're starting . It's not my next picture, I know that. It doesn't mean that it's not the picture right after 'cause that's still a possibility.

Dat actrice Brittany Murphy is overleden zal de productie waarschijnlijk geen goed doen, omdat haar personage en belangrijke rol had in het verhaal waar de nieuwe film over zal/zou gaan. Een verhaal dat overigens al uit 2007 komt:

Well, it's one Frank wrote and we have to look at [the script] now and go, ‘Is this really the one?’ I think it's built up so much that, like, are we really going to satisfy everybody with what we have or should we add to it? It's the thing we had always talked about doing. But now two years later we'd probably make some adjustments. Nothing that would take a long time. We could already start and in pre-production fix anything we wanted to.
