Had niet gehoeven: de Danger Girl film

FilmDrunk laat weten dat er momenteel een film van de populaire 90's comic Danger Girl van J. Scott Campbell in (verre) voor-productie is.

Tegen de LA Times vertelt producent Adrian Askarieh --een ongelofelijke douchebag, btw-- wat zijn visie hierop is:

I would describe it  as  “Kill Bill” meets “Raiders of the Lost Ark” with the “team” element of “Mission: Impossible.” I would say to the uninitiated that the book is a smart, hip, fun and beautifully drawn love letter to the best action/adventure movies of the last 30 years. It is the story of a lost girl who, through this incredibly kick-ass adventure, finds her destiny, comes of age and helps save the world.  It is truly an iconic property which for a while (before “Watchmen” and “300″ were turned into movies) was the best known non-Marvel/DC comic book out there.

Als je de comic niet kent, kom uit kan ik je vertellen dat het verhaal lang niet zo inpactvol was als 300 of Watchmen, al was het stiekem best een leuke comic. De enige manier dat dit kan werken is als het verhaal zo is geschreven dat het een soort satirische homage aan James Bond films is op dezelfde manier dat Black Dynamite dat voor blaxploitation films is.
