Batman: Year One, de eerste beelden

Frank Miller en David Mazzucchelli's Batman: Year One wordt verfilmd. Een straight-to-dvd animatiefilm. Jammer, maar om het goed te maken krijgen we wel een aantal A-acteurs die de stemmen doen. Waaronder Bryan 'Breaking Bad' Cranston en Eliza Dushku.

Ben McKenzie, bekend uit The OC, is de stem van Bruce Wayne. Eliza Dushku is Catwoman en Katee Sackhoff is Sarah Essen. Cranston zal te horen zijn als James Gordon, al geeft hij toe dat hij de rol in eerste instantie weigerde;

I wasn't aware of this level of storytelling in animation. I confess that freely. They didn't give the characters the short shrift. I was stunned.

Bruce Timm, die de animatie van de bekende serie deed, is uitvoerend producent;

The source material is surprisingly cinematic; it's a pretty straight forward literal retelling. Mazzucchelli's artwork is beautifully composed and we were able to refer to the comic for about 80 percent of the camera setups.

Chill. Hopelijk wordt het niet te soft.
