Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead

AMC heeft meer bekendgemaakt over het zesdelige eerste seizoen van The Walking Dead. Andrew Lincoln is bijvoorbeeld aan de cast toegevoegd naast Jon Bernthal.

Lincoln zal te zien zijn als Rick Grimes, waar eerder gedacht werd aan Johnny Lee Miller, terwijl Bernthal zoals eerder vermeld te zien is als (voormalige) partner.

Schrijver Robert Kirkman is erg enthousiast over Lincoln:

Andrew Lincoln, wow -- what an amazing find this guy is. Writing Rick Grimes month after month in the comic series, I had no idea he was an actual living breathing human being and yet here he is. I couldn't be more thrilled with how this show is coming together.

In juni beginnen de opnames voor de serie. Kirkman, die de comic bedacht, is de executive producer van de serie samen met Gale Anne Hurd (The Incredible Hulk) en Charles Eglee (Dexter). Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption) is schrijver/regisseur (en ook executive producer). Klinkt goed!
